When you think of flash TVs Toshiba is undoubtedly one of the first names you’ll think of. They are veterans in the market and leaders in technology. As a result it’s no surprise that they currently offer a number of 3D, HD, Smart, Flat screen TV’s in a whole range of sizes! This article will look at a few of those TV’s and what Toshiba really has to offer!
3D TV’s
Toshiba 40TL868B Full HD 1080p 3D Ready LED backlit TV with Freeview HD & Internet TV
Price: £598 at Tesco
Pros: Perfect for watching films and sports.
Cons: Extremely expensive due to its overly fancy features.
Now I’ve never really understood the point in a 3D TV. I love going to see big action films in the cinema where things are flying towards you, but watching Eastenders in 3D? Is it really worth the extra money? The gadget freaks among you will probably be shouting YES at your computer screen. If that’s you, you’ll love this TV!
Smart TV’s
Many of Toshiba’s TV’s currently on the markets are also smart TVs just like the 40TL868B above.
The following TV however is particularly impressive check out these features!
TOSHIBA 32RL953B Full HD 32" LED TV
Price: £449 at Currys
Pro’s: No need to be sat in front of your laptop in the lounge anymore...you can do everything you need on your TV!
Con’s: May make you even more antisocial/a couch potato!
The smart features on this innovative Toshiba TV are pretty impressive! They include ability to access YouTube, Facebook and other social network sites, Acetrax (for movie rentals) and Toshiba Places which boasts over 12 million songs and more!
It’s an entertainment hub if ever I saw one!
Cheap TV’s
Toshiba currently have a number of models on sale for under £200, but if you compromise on price are you compromising on quality?
Toshiba 19BL502 19 Inch HD Ready Freeview Edge-Lit LED TV.
Price: £149.99 at Argos
Pro’s: Perfect as an additional TV for kitchens/bedrooms.
Cons: Doesn’t come with a wall mount and potentially lacks in sound quality.
A lot of the time a cheap TV is a smaller TV and that is true with this model as it is only boasts a 19 inch screen. However, this is not necessarily a bad thing as it is super thin which makes it perfect for wall mounting in a bedroom for example.
In terms of picture quality, it boasts an LED screen and is HD ready! Although I do wonder whether this is entirely necessary on such a small screen? Surely the purpose of HD is to see things as if they were there in front of you, but who’s seen a ‘life-like’ house just 5 inches tall!
Unfortunately, there’s also some suggestion that as a result of such high quality picture, sound has be compromised to keep it cheap; though you can’t have it all! Having said that the TV also comes with everything you’d expect of a modern TV, from 1 SCART, 1 USB, 1 HDMI socket and PC input, to a remote control, digital text and a 7 day electronic programming guide, so you are still getting quite a bit for your money!
Large TV’s
Last but not least, who says size doesn’t matter? Whether you’re watching a film or the football you won’t miss a thing on a screen this large!
Toshiba 55WL863B Full HD 55” LED 3D TV.
Price: £1,399 at Currys
Pro’s: IT’s HUGE!
Cons: Who cares, IT’S HUGE!
All in all Toshiba seem to have covered all bases in the modern TV world – have they really managed to make a TV for everyone?
